SASSI has been fully complying with Bexar County COVID restrictions while continuing to operate as a club. To reduce exposure to club staff, we have canceled any general public flying at least through the summer. This does limit ability for the public to experience the joy of soaring and we are sorry to have to curtail passengers, but the safety of our pilots and ground crew must be paramount. Please check back in late fall for any update on passenger flights.

We are still accepting new members that wish to learn to fly or already have their glider certificate. We have COVID procedures that require masks to be worn by both persons in two place gliders; social distancing on the ground and masks on ground personnel if social distancing is not feasible; and any meetings are held outside and with social distancing and masks if necessary.

If you are interested in becoming a member please contact our President, JJ Romano, 210 601 4360. Due to so many spam calls, please leave a message and he will get back to you with information and to answer any questions.

We finally constructed our club hangar at Boerne Stage Airfield. Our 8500 sq ft structure is us.ed to hangar club assets and we lease space for private gliders. We will be constructing a training facility in the hangar this winter for a full club capability
